How is the life of an individual who is a part of the Swadhyaya Parivar
Pandurang Shastri Athavale was a renowned figure who founded the Swadhyaya movement, a socio-spiritual initiative. Athavale emphasized the practice of self-study (Swadhyaya) as a means of personal and societal transformation. The movement aimed to empower individuals through introspection, fostering values such as compassion, humility, and unity. Pandurang Shastri Athavale believed that Swadhyaya could bring positive change to individuals and communities, promoting holistic personal development and social welfare. The Swadhyaya movement gained widespread recognition and inspired people to engage in self-reflection, community service, and the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment. Since 1978, more than a lakh villages and over 35 countries have been spread the word of Geeta during the Swadhyaya movement by the Swadhyaya family (Parivar). Today, millions of Seadyayees continue to spread the word with a common mission to see a universal brotherhood and spread the message of Bhagvadgeeta to every last person.

Raju sir’s journey is truly remarkable, as he transformed from a misunderstood and unwise young person, scorned by society, to a highly respected individual within his community, all thanks to the decades of social work he had undertaken through the Swadhyaya movement.

Financial constraints were a constant struggle for Raju and his family. They couldn’t afford basic necessities such as clothes or shoes for school. Raju’s father had two wives. The first wife, Krishnai, was unable to have children, so his father married another woman who gave birth to three children—Raju’s younger brother and sister.
Unfortunately, Raju’s father’s alcoholism created a hostile environment at home. He was abusive towards his wives and children, subjecting them to daily beatings. The situation became unbearable, leading Raju’s father’s second wife, along with her son, to leave the house. Raju remained with his father, Krishnai, and his sister, enduring the physical abuse they faced on a regular basis.

The walls of his current office were adorned with photographs and medals, proudly showcasing his accomplishments. Information handed by Raju Dixit sir:
Parampujya Pandurang Shastriji started the work of self-study only in nineteen thirty and when the bomb was heavy on Hiroshima Nagasaki on Japan. At that time a Shanti Parishad..i.e., Vishwa Shanti Parishad was organized..and at that time all the Philosophers and Philosophers from the world came there…and to represent India…Pandurang Shastri Athavale was sent in 1954
When Param Pujya Pandurang Shastri started the speech in the Dharma Parishad, he added one thing to it, as Swami Vivekananda had said in his speech, “My Brothers and Sisters.” My Divine Brothers and Sisters. Started resonating and during that time explained many things of Quran, explained the things of Bible, explained the things of Buddhism.
He established many texts.. despite that he published Gita best on this, he published light on many aspects.. after that Bhagwad Gita got a lot of respect.. and Pandurang Shastri after coming from there gave the same philosophy, thoughts of scriptures. Decided to take it from house to house and in that form this huge Swadhyay family emerged. Jai Yogeshwar
